ITS Wisconsin Student Scholarship for the 2023-2024 Academic Year
ITS Wisconsin Scholarship: Noah Miller, UW-Platteville Junior
Noah’s interest in ITS stemmed from a trip to the Netherlands, where he learned about the Dutch transportation system, and specifically, about intelligent intersections and public transportation. This fascination was supplemented with his internship at AECOM working on the design of the Madison Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and its use of ITS. He’s been president and a traveling team leader at Engineers Without Borders and Co-founder of Sustainable Solutions at ASCE’s UW-Platteville Chapter. He aspires to have a career designing and planning urban areas.
GLTEI Scholarship: Mia Salov, Marquette University Senior
Mia got her civil engineering passion solidified from studying abroad in Ireland where she gained a global perspective on civil engineering. Since then, she has explored the world of transportation engineering design with internships at HNTB and HGA. The potential for revolutionizing the transportation industry is what excites her most. Mia is a member of the Marquette Honors Program, Marquette University’s Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, and the Chi Epsilon Chapter, and a consistent presence on the Dean’s List. After graduation, she’s eager to apply her skills, knowledge, and dedication to shape the future of transportation.
